This region is part of a large forest habitat; bears are common. It is highly recommended to hike in groups and make noise.

The area is a "living classroom" for geology, featuring massive flysch deposits and active erosion zones.

Be prepared for unstable ground. The scree slopes can be slippery, especially after rain.
