The novel follows , an intelligence officer (MİT agent) whose life is unraveling. Already reeling from the murder of his mentor and an assassination attempt on himself, Sedat faces a personal crisis: the disappearance of Mine , the woman he loves.

Ümit doesn't just use the city as a backdrop; Istanbul is a character. The "sis" (fog) and "gece" (night) symbolize the uncertainty and moral ambiguity of the time.
